Qualitative data analysis revealed that Cambodian EFL university students utilize a variety of techniques and strategies, including speaking to oneself in front of a mirror, watching Hollywood movies and YouTube videos, and chatting with friends on the Internet in order to enhance their English speaking skills. Given the significance of one's ability to speak English effectively, this paper investigated Cambodian EFL university students' perceptions of effective English speaking skills, using focus group interviews with 20 Cambodian undergraduate and graduate students majoring in English. The ability to speak English fluently and effectively is highly desirable in today's world, and one of the primary goals for anyone who learns English is to be able to successfully engage in meaningful communication with others.
